India's External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar welcomed a high-level Japanese delegation led by Fukushiro Nukaga, Speaker of the House of Representatives, to discuss expanding cooperation in various sectors including business, investments, and technology.
The Japanese delegation, which arrived in New Delhi as part of a strategic diplomatic mission, was greeted by Speaker Birla and other senior Indian lawmakers.
Both General Dwivedi and General Morishita emphasized the importance of deepening military collaboration to address shared security challenges and foster regional stability.
Dr. Jaishankar emphasized the dramatic infrastructural developments India has achieved over the past decade. "We have, on average, built eight new airports every year and about 1.5 to 2 new metro systems in new cities annually," he noted.
India and Japan convened consultations in New Delhi, focusing on political and economic dynamics in the Middle East/West Asia region, including deliberations on Gaza.
