Stock market news: Singtel drops 2.2%, DBS slides 0.9%, and YZJ Shipbuilding gains 1.1% amid mid-day high trading volume

As of mid-day trading on December 6 (12:31 PM local time), stocks with the highest trading volume on the Singapore Exchange exhibited mixed trends, reflecting varied investor sentiment across sectors.

Singtel emerged as one of the most actively traded stocks, declining by 2.24% to 3.05 SGD. The telecommunications giant faced selling pressure amid cautious market sentiment. Similarly, DBS, Singapore’s largest bank, saw a decrease of 0.90%, trading at 43.86 SGD.

Conversely, YZJ Shipbuilding (SGD) stood out with a gain of 1.14%, trading at 2.67 SGD, as investor confidence in the shipping and shipbuilding industry remained buoyant.

Other actively traded stocks included OCBC Bank, which inched up by 0.37% to 16.43 SGD, and ST Engineering, which gained 0.66% to trade at 4.61 SGD. UOB, however, saw a marginal decline of 0.40%, trading at 37.00 SGD.
