The Supreme Court, acknowledging the severity of the incidents, has mandated a series of protocols to ensure the security and authenticity of examination papers. The court’s intervention follows significant public outcry and legal challenges surrounding the paper leaks, which undermined the credibility of the examination system.
“The Supreme Court has laid down various guidelines regarding paper leak,” stated Advocate Sailakwal. “The court has taken note of the paper leak which happened in Hazaribagh and Patna, and a committee was also formed.” This committee, tasked with scrutinizing and enhancing the security measures, is now required to integrate all the recommendations outlined in the court’s judgment.
Central to the Supreme Court’s directives is the secure transportation of examination papers. The court highlighted the necessity of robust logistical protocols to prevent unauthorized access during transit. “You have to take care of the travelling of the paper,” the court directed, underscoring the importance of stringent oversight at every stage of the paper’s journey from preparation to distribution.
Additionally, the court mandated the installation of CCTV cameras at all critical points in the examination process. This measure is intended to deter and detect any attempts at tampering or unauthorized handling of the papers. “CCTV cameras have to be installed,” the court ordered, reinforcing the need for constant surveillance to maintain the integrity of the examination environment.
Another significant directive is aimed at preventing impersonation, a growing concern in high-stakes examinations. The court emphasized the necessity of rigorous identity verification processes to ensure that only legitimate candidates are able to participate. “Impersonation may not happen,” the Supreme Court stipulated, directing the committee to implement foolproof measures to curb this malpractice.
This decisive action by the Supreme Court is expected to restore faith in the examination system, providing a transparent and secure framework for future assessments. As the committee works towards fulfilling its mandate, educational authorities and stakeholders are hopeful that these measures will prevent any recurrence of the issues that have plagued recent examinations.
