On the occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav announced a significant policy initiative aimed at integrating Agniveers into state services. Drawing inspiration from Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision, the state government has decided to implement reservations for Agniveers in the police force and other state services. This move is part of a broader strategy to modernize and rejuvenate the Indian Army and related services.
In his address, CM Yadav emphasized the importance of the Agniveer scheme, which aims to infuse the armed forces with youthful energy and efficiency. “The Madhya Pradesh government, on ‘Kargil Vijay Diwas,’ is following in the footsteps of Prime Minister Modi by making reservations in state police and other services for Agniveers. This scheme is designed to make the Army modern, efficient, and young on a global level,” Yadav stated.
The announcement comes as a part of the Agnipath scheme, which was launched by the central government to recruit young soldiers into the armed forces on a short-term contractual basis. The initiative aims to provide Agniveers with career opportunities in various state departments, leveraging their skills and discipline gained during military service.
The reservations will apply to various positions within the Madhya Pradesh police force, as well as other state services, providing Agniveers with a pathway to continue serving the nation in different capacities. This policy is expected to enhance the operational efficiency of state services by integrating disciplined and trained personnel.
The decision has been well-received by supporters of the Agnipath scheme and is anticipated to set a precedent for other states considering similar measures.
