The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has taken charge of the investigation into the RG Kar Medical College and Hospital rape-murder case, following an order from the Calcutta High Court. The case, which has sent shockwaves across the state, involves the brutal assault and murder of a young woman on the hospital premises, allegedly by the accused Sanjoy Roy.
Sanjoy Roy, who was earlier arrested by local law enforcement, was brought to Kolkata’s Command Hospital on Wednesday for a comprehensive medical checkup.
