BJP Hell Bent to Handover PSUs, Railways to Industrialists: Congress’ Rahul Gandhi in Gumla

He alleged that the ruling party is determined to hand over public sector undertakings (PSUs) and the railways to a select group of industrialists, in an apparent reference to the Adani and Ambani business groups.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi continued his scathing attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) during a rally in Gumla, Jharkhand. He alleged that the ruling party is determined to hand over public sector undertakings (PSUs) and the railways to a select group of industrialists, in an apparent reference to the Adani and Ambani business groups.

Gandhi’s remarks came as he campaigned for the Congress party and its allies ahead of the crucial Lok Sabha elections. The former party president accused the BJP of undermining the interests of the common people and working for the benefit of a few influential industrialists with close ties to the ruling establishment.

Without naming Gautam Adani or Mukesh Ambani directly, Gandhi’s statement alluded to the perception that the BJP has favoured these business tycoons through its policies and decisions. The Congress leader alleged that the BJP’s ultimate goal is to privatize vital public assets, including PSUs and the railways, and transfer their control to these industrialists.

Gandhi’s accusations align with the opposition’s broader narrative of portraying the BJP as a party that prioritizes the interests of big businesses over the welfare of the masses. The Congress and its allies have repeatedly criticized the government’s economic policies, alleging that they have disproportionately benefited a select group of corporate houses with close ties to the ruling party.

As the high-stakes electoral battle intensifies, both the BJP and the opposition parties are leaving no stone unturned in their efforts to garner support from various sections of the electorate. Gandhi’s remarks in Gumla are aimed at consolidating the anti-BJP vote bank and positioning the Congress-led alliance as the protector of public assets and the interests of the common people.
