UAE convoys to Gaza reach 100, delivering over 20,000 tonnes of aid

The UAE has delivered 100 aid convoys with over 20,000 tonnes of supplies to Gaza since November, including medical equipment, food, and shelter, significantly alleviating dire conditions amid ongoing conflict.

The UAE has achieved a significant milestone in its humanitarian efforts, with 100 aid convoys delivering over 20,000 metric tons of urgent supplies to Gaza since November. This initiative is part of the Gallant Knight 3 campaign, launched on November 24, which has seen 1,000 trucks carrying essential aid enter Gaza from Egypt via the Rafah border crossing.

The convoys have transported many supplies, including essential medical equipment, medicines, food parcels, Emirati dates, shelter tents, clothing, water, baby formula, and parcels specifically for children and women. Additionally, they have delivered blankets, relief bags, ambulances, water tanks, and sewage systems. This comprehensive aid package aims to alleviate the severe conditions faced by the residents of Gaza.

In response to the invasion of the Rafah region in Gaza, four aid convoys crossed the border, delivering 320 tonnes of supplies, including shelter tents and food parcels for displaced families. The health sector received substantial support with 16 tonnes of medicines and medical supplies, addressing critical healthcare needs in the region.

The UAE has established 12 warehouses at a logistics base in the Egyptian city of Al Arish to stockpile essential aid, including nappies, blankets, canned food, flour, rice, and medicine. These depots, filled with vital goods, reflect the generosity of the UAE public, who rallied under the Compassion for Gaza campaign. Thousands of volunteers across the UAE participated in packing aid boxes for Palestinians in need.

Operation Gallant Knight 3 also includes several projects to support Gaza’s population. The UAE has notably established a field hospital in the southern Gaza Strip and deployed a floating hospital to offer medical care. Figures released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in June indicate that the UAE has delivered 33,100 tonnes of essential supplies to Gaza since November.

Moreover, the UAE has established five automatic bakeries and six desalination plants, producing 1.2 million gallons of clean water daily for 600,000 people in Gaza. At least 3,380 tonnes of relief supplies have been sent to isolated parts of Gaza through aid drops.
