Oman Air has announced a significant upgrade to its passenger boarding system (PBS) at Muscat International Airport, set to take effect from August 4th, 2024. The overhaul aims to enhance efficiency and improve the overall travel experience for passengers.
The new system introduces advanced technology designed to streamline the boarding process. Key features include automated boarding gates, which will expedite the check-in and boarding procedures, reducing waiting times and minimizing congestion at departure gates. This technological upgrade is expected to provide passengers with a smoother and more seamless travel experience, reflecting Oman Air’s commitment to leveraging innovation to improve service quality.
In addition to the automated gates, the new PBS will incorporate real-time data tracking. This feature will allow passengers to receive up-to-date information regarding boarding times and gate changes directly to their mobile devices, further enhancing convenience and reducing uncertainty during travel.
Oman Air’s CEO, Abdulaziz Al Raisi, emphasized the importance of this development in a recent statement. “Our goal is to ensure that every journey with Oman Air is as comfortable and efficient as possible. The new boarding system at Muscat International Airport is a crucial step towards achieving this. By integrating cutting-edge technology, we are streamlining operations and elevating the passenger experience.”
Passengers are advised to arrive at the airport earlier than usual during the transition period to accommodate any adjustments and to familiarize themselves with the new system. Oman Air has assured travellers that staff will be available to assist and provide guidance throughout the implementation phase.
Overall, this upgrade marks a significant improvement in Muscat International Airport’s infrastructure, aligning with Oman Air’s broader strategy of modernization and excellence in customer service.
