At 9:00 pm on Monday, 23 December 2024 (GMT+8), the Taiwan Stock Exchange recorded heightened trading activity, with notable performances from key players in the technology and transportation sectors.
Leading the gains was Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC), which surged 4.35%, closing at 1,080 TWD.
This was followed by Quanta Computer, which posted an impressive 4.14% increase, ending the session at 289.0 TWD.
Other top gainers included Alchip Technologies Limited, up 2.47% at 3,315 TWD, and Hon Hai Precision Industry, which rose by 2.49% to 185.5 TWD.
However, the shipping sector saw weaker performance. Yang Ming Marine Transport Corp slipped by 1.00% to 78.9 TWD, and Evergreen Marine Corp (Taiwan) declined by 1.08%, closing at 228.0 TWD.
