Taiwan’s stock market saw varied movements in high-volume stocks on Thursday, with some companies posting gains while others traded lower as of 11:55 am TST. Among the most actively traded stocks, Asia Optical Co. Inc. led the gains, rising 2.56% to 180.5 TWD.
Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing, the world’s largest contract chipmaker, edged up 0.45% to 1,115 TWD, while MediaTek Inc. added 0.33% to reach 1,530 TWD.
LuxNet Corporation also saw a modest increase of 1.13%, trading at 224.0 TWD.
On the downside, Alchip Technologies Limited fell 1.05% to 3,310 TWD, marking a decline in early trading. Hon Hai Precision Industry, known globally as Foxconn, gained 0.88% to reach 172.5 TWD.
