The DPRK is stepping up its efforts to recover from floods as part of a national drive to stabilize the agriculture industry. Following the recent devastation caused by heavy rains and flooding, the country’s leadership has called on various agricultural organizations and workers to maximize their contributions in repairing damage and preparing for future resilience.

Local agricultural cooperatives, the Union of Agricultural Workers of Korea (UAWK), and regional government officials have mobilized substantial resources to restore farmland, irrigation systems, and rural infrastructure affected by the floods. Reports indicate that farms in multiple provinces, including South Hwanghae and North Phyongan, have accelerated their efforts in land preparation, focusing on key tasks such as drainage, soil restoration, and embankment repair in order to stop additional damage during the approaching harvest season.

The UAWK has implemented special educational programs to bolster workers’ morale, emphasizing loyalty to the Party’s directives and the importance of national food security. Farmers are participating in daily sessions designed to instil the spirit of self-reliance, resilience, and dedication to the country’s socialist values, ensuring that agricultural production remains on track despite the challenges posed by natural disasters.

Collective farm units across the country are taking measures to safeguard crops and minimize losses, including the deployment of machinery, equipment, and labour resources to harvest crops as efficiently as possible. This coordinated effort is critical in ensuring that the agricultural sector recovers swiftly, given its pivotal role in sustaining the country’s food supply.

In line with the broader national campaign, the government has also urged local officials to provide unwavering support to affected farming communities. This includes supplying essential farming tools, seeds, and fertilizers to expedite the recovery process, reinforcing the DPRK’s commitment to overcoming adversity and securing agricultural stability in the face of climate-induced challenges.
