Tokyo, 16 December 2024: Sanrio Co. Ltd emerged as the top gainer among the highest-volume stocks during midday trading on Monday, climbing 5.50% to 4,680 JPY as of 1:55 PM local time. SoftBank Group Corp and IHI Corporation also recorded notable gains, while Advantest Corp saw a sharp decline.
SoftBank Group Corp closely followed Sanrio’s surge, which rose 3.17% to trade at 9,720 JPY. IHI Corporation posted a steady gain of 1.73%, reaching 8,372 JPY during the session. Mitsubishi Heavy Industries also advanced, adding 0.83% to hit 2,300 JPY.
However, the session was not positive for all high-volume stocks. Advantest Corp faced significant losses, falling 7.19% to 8,871 JPY, making it the largest loser during midday trade. Fujikura also declined, slipping 1.90% to 6,367 JPY.
