Stock market: Fujikura surges 14.82%, Advantest gains 4.01%, and Fuji Media rises 8.15% on Nikkei’s high-volume trade

Fujikura, Advantest Corp, and Fuji Media Holdings led the Nikkei 225’s most active stocks by volume on 22 January, closing the trading day with notable performances. Fujikura topped the list, skyrocketing by 14.82% to close at 6,943 JPY.

Advantest Corp also recorded strong activity, with a 4.01% rise to 9,819 JPY, reflecting robust interest in the semiconductor testing equipment sector. Meanwhile, Fuji Media Holdings saw a significant jump of 8.15%, finishing the session at 1,971.5 JPY as media and entertainment stocks gained traction.

Other stocks in the high-volume list included IHI Corporation, which fell by 1.55% to 8,365 JPY, and Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group Inc, closing marginally lower at 1,906.5 JPY, a decline of 0.60%. Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, however, posted a modest gain of 1.34%, ending the day at 2,087 JPY.
