In response to the imminent threat of further landslides due to ongoing heavy rains, Hamamatsu City issued an evacuation order at 4:30 p.m. on August 26. This directive affects seven individuals residing in four households near the landslide zone. Some evacuees have sought refuge with relatives.

The region has experienced intense rainfall, with Funaaki, located in Tenryu Ward, recording 96.5 mm of rain within a six-hour period up to 3:00 a.m. on August 26.
