The Nikkei 225 ended slightly higher on 5th February 2025, closing at 38,831.65 JPY, up 33.50 points (0.09%) from the previous close of 38,798.15 JPY. The index opened at 38,979.21 JPY and fluctuated between 38,682.18 JPY and 39,118.95 JPY during the session.
Despite the modest daily gain, the benchmark index remains down 1.20% over the past five days and has lost 2.79% year-to-date. Over the past six months, however, the Nikkei has risen 10.09%, reflecting broader optimism in the market.
