Ahead of the seventh Chinese Farmers’ Harvest Festival, Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, expressed festive greetings to farmers and those working in agriculture and rural sectors. His message emphasised the necessity of enhancing agricultural economic benefits and increasing farmers’ incomes.
Speaking to a gathering of agricultural leaders, Xi highlighted the importance of revitalising the countryside to ensure tangible benefits for farmers. He acknowledged the challenges faced this year, including natural disasters, yet noted that China had managed to boost summer grain output and maintain steady early rice production.
