Whirlpool maintains “best place to work” status for disability inclusion for the eighth year

Whirlpool Corporation’s commitment to disability inclusion has been recognized once again with a perfect 100 score on the 2024 Disability Equality Index.

The company has earned a perfect score of 100 on the 2024 Disability Equality Index (DEI) for the eighth year in a row. This accolade underscores Whirlpool’s commitment to creating an inclusive work environment and reflects its ongoing efforts to advance disability inclusion in the workplace.

The DEI, a leading independent benchmarking tool, evaluates corporate disability inclusion policies and practices across five key categories: Culture & Leadership, Enterprise-Wide Access, Employment Practices, Community Engagement, and Supplier Diversity. By achieving a perfect score, Whirlpool has demonstrated its excellence in fostering a supportive and accessible environment for employees with disabilities.

Whirlpool’s approach to disability inclusion is its Awareness of Visible and Invisible Disabilities (AVID) Employee Resource Group (ERG). One of the company’s 17 ERGs, AVID is dedicated to supporting diverse perspectives and enhancing understanding of the challenges faced by individuals with disabilities. The group has implemented various initiatives, including product immersion activities, which help employees gain deeper insights into the needs of consumers with disabilities.
