Kazakh Deputy Prime Minister Serik Zhumangarin delivered a keynote speech at the opening ceremony of the 8th China-Eurasia Expo, held from June 26 to June 30 in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region of northwest China. During his address, Zhumangarin highlighted the substantial potential for mutually beneficial cooperation between Kazakhstan and China, underlining its critical role in Kazakhstan’s sustainable development strategy.
The China-Eurasia Expo, a significant platform for promoting economic and cultural exchange between China and the Eurasian region, attracted a wide array of government officials, business leaders, and industry experts. The event provided a valuable opportunity for Kazakhstan to showcase its economic strengths and explore new avenues for bilateral and multilateral collaboration with China and other participating countries.
In his speech, Zhumangarin praised the longstanding partnership between Kazakhstan and China, noting that the two nations have enjoyed a close and fruitful relationship for many years. He emphasized that China is one of Kazakhstan’s most important trading partners, with bilateral trade reaching new heights in recent years. The Deputy Prime Minister pointed out that cooperation with China is not just beneficial but essential for Kazakhstan’s ongoing economic growth and development.
“Cooperation with China is an important factor in Kazakhstan’s sustainable development,” Zhumangarin stated. He went on to highlight several key areas where the two countries can work together to achieve mutual benefits, including infrastructure development, energy, technology, and agriculture. He emphasized that these sectors are critical to Kazakhstan’s economic diversification efforts and its goal of reducing dependence on raw material exports.
Zhumangarin also discussed the strategic significance of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), which has played a crucial role in enhancing connectivity and fostering economic integration across the Eurasian continent. He noted that Kazakhstan has been an active participant in the BRI and has greatly benefited from improved infrastructure and increased trade opportunities as a result of its involvement. The Deputy Prime Minister expressed his hope that the China-Eurasia Expo would catalyze further strengthening ties and exploring new areas of collaboration under the BRI framework.
The Deputy Prime Minister concluded his speech by reiterating Kazakhstan’s commitment to deepening its partnership with China and other Eurasian countries. He expressed optimism that the China-Eurasia Expo would pave the way for new and innovative forms of cooperation that would contribute to the shared prosperity and sustainable development of the region.
