China’s major indices posted moderate gains today, with the SSE Composite increasing by 0.35% and the Shenzhen Component Index gaining 0.67%, indicating continued investor optimism in key sectors.

Moderate gains across China’s major indices

In today’s session, China’s major indices experienced steady gains. The SSE Composite Index rose by 0.35%, closing at 3,395.5306 CNY, while the Shenzhen Component Index gained 0.67% to end at 11,041.2090 CNY. The SZSE Composite Index also posted a 0.50% increase, reaching 2,060.0285 CNY, reflecting a positive trend among investors, especially in the technology and growth sectors.

CSI and FTSE indices highlight market optimism

Several other indices reinforced the trend of modest gains. The CSI 1000 Index increased by 0.58%, closing at 6,329.8492 CNY, and the FTSE China A50 Index rose by 0.46% to 13,625.04 CNH. Notably, the CSI 300 Index, which tracks the top 300 stocks on the Shanghai and Shenzhen exchanges, recorded a 0.25% gain to end at 4,034.1941 CNY. The SSE SmallCap Index saw the highest percentage increase of the day, up 0.59% to 4,924.2184 CNY, underscoring investor interest in smaller companies with growth potential.
