Afghanistan United Front
On October 18th, an anti-Taliban coalition known as the Afghanistan United Front was established. This coalition has officially opened an office in Washington, D.C., specifically in Virginia. It is under the leadership of Sayed Sami Sadat, a former commander of Afghanistan’s elite special forces. The primary mission of this coalition is to fully restore Afghanistan’s republican system, eradicating any Taliban influence or control.
The Afghanistan United Front has highlighted three significant consequences in Afghanistan:
(i) The Taliban’s facilitation of international terrorism on a large scale, which includes groups like Al-Qaeda, Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan, and various other terrorist organizations, granting them refuge within Afghanistan.
(ii) China’s acquisition of Afghanistan’s valuable mineral resources through agreements with the Taliban at rates below market value.
(iii) A humanitarian crisis with 9 million Afghans living as refugees, including 5 million who have fled the country in just two years.
The primary objective is to restore the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, eliminate the presence of international terrorist groups, particularly the Taliban, reinstate the 2002 constitution, and revive national symbols like the flag and anthem. Their mission includes reestablishing democratic elections, strengthening global relations, upholding democratic principles and human rights, and safeguarding freedom of speech and women’s rights, as outlined in their official press release.
The leadership of the Anti-Taliban force has been entrusted to Ex-Army general Sayed Sami Sadat who is a distinguished figure, he worked as a commander in the Afghanistan Army’s Special Elite Forces. Ex-Governor Masood Bakhtawar will be heading its political commission.
The Afghanistan United Force has conveyed its eagerness to cooperate with fellow Afghan freedom movements and international allies of Afghanistan. This coalition holds the potential to serve as a beacon of hope for the countless oppressed individuals living under the rule of the Taliban terrorist group in Afghanistan.
