Stock market: Fujikura leads high-volume stocks with 4.28% surge as Nikkei gains 0.72%

Stocks with the highest trading volume on the Tokyo Stock Exchange displayed mixed performance on 4th February 2025, with Fujikura (5803) emerging as the top gainer, closing 4.28% higher at 6,308 JPY.

Among other high-volume stocks, Advantest Corp (6857) recorded a 2.86% increase, closing at 8,537 JPY, followed by IHI Corporation (7013), which rose 1.68% to 9,660 JPY. Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group Inc (8306) also ended the session higher, gaining 0.80% to reach 1,941.5 JPY. SoftBank Group Corp (9984) advanced 0.74% to close at 9,525 JPY.

However, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (7011) was the only high-volume stock to decline, slipping 0.58% to 2,217.5 JPY.

The overall market saw a positive session, with the Nikkei 225 closing at 38,798.15 JPY, up 278.13 points (+0.72%). Despite today’s gains, the index remains down 1.21% over the past five days and 3.79% over the past month.
