The Democratic People’s Republic of Korea’s (DPRK) coal industry is undertaking significant measures to reinforce its material and technical foundation, with various units showing substantial progress in enhancing mining efficiency and output.
The Jikdong Youth Coal Mine, part of the Sunchon Area Youth Coal Mining Complex, has implemented new tunnel maintenance technology, increasing efficiency and safety. The mine has also developed new additives to improve the quality of castings, reflecting the sector’s commitment to innovative solutions in its mining processes.
The Kujang Area Coal Mining Complex has focused its efforts on further strengthening the material and technical foundation of its coal mine maintenance bases. These improvements have led to producing various accessories essential for maintenance across its coal mines, significantly boosting tunnelling speeds. As a result, both coal mining and carrying capacities have shown marked improvement, demonstrating the effectiveness of these enhancements.
The Pukchang Area Youth Coal Mining Complex and the Hamnam Area Coal Mining Complex are proactively supporting their survey teams by ensuring a consistent supply of necessary equipment and materials. This initiative aims to improve the overall efficiency and accuracy of coal exploration and extraction operations.
The Tokchon Area Coal Mining Complex is channelling considerable efforts into reinforcing the maintenance bases of its survey teams while introducing advanced survey equipment to streamline mining activities further. These strategic developments highlight the sector’s dedication to adopting efficient, modern technologies to maintain a steady pace of coal production.
The ongoing advancements across these coal mining complexes are expected to significantly contribute to the DPRK’s energy supply, underlining the country’s efforts to build a resilient and self-reliant energy sector through technological innovation and enhanced operational capabilities.
