A boating mishap involving a student group from Seiki Sports University occurred at Lake Biwa in Otsu City today, September 9, around 6:10 pm. Reports from the Shiga Prefectural Police indicate that the group, consisting of approximately 50 students, encountered difficulties while on the water, leading to a situation where some fell into the lake. Initial assessments suggest that around 20 students managed to swim to safety on their own.
The Otsu City Fire Department, however, reported to Kyodo News that all personnel involved in the incident have now safely returned to shore.
