YouTuber Ayanan (31) and Tokai On Air’s Shibayu (30) have confirmed their divorce, marking the end of their eight-year marriage. The announcement came on September 7 via Ayanan’s X (formerly Twitter) account. The couple has stated their decision to part ways was driven by accumulated pressures from their personal and professional lives.
Ayanan revealed that the couple reached their breaking point in October of the previous year due to the strain from work and childcare responsibilities. Despite their efforts to support each other initially, they ultimately decided that continuing as a married couple was no longer feasible. Ayanan expressed regret for the distress caused to their fans and associated parties, acknowledging the impact of their actions.
The divorce was officially filed in April, and the couple is now navigating their roles as co-parents. They have committed to cooperating in raising their two children while maintaining mutual respect. Ayanan emphasized that although their marital status has changed, they remain supportive of one another and their family unit.
Additionally, Ayanan announced that their collaborative YouTube channel, Shibanan Channel, will be on indefinite hiatus. She explained that despite its emotional significance, the channel will remain inactive for the time being. Ayanan plans to continue her individual social media presence moving forward.
The couple’s separation has attracted significant attention, particularly following Ayanan’s earlier social media revelations about their troubled relationship. The disclosure of Shibayu’s panic disorder and the existence of a “second partner” added to the controversy surrounding their split.
