In a significant development for Afghanistan’s energy sector, Bilal Karimi, the Ambassador of the Islamic Emirate to China, met with Wen Bin Li, the Director General of the Central Asia Petroleum and Gas (CAPEIC) Chinese company, to discuss advancements in oil and gas extraction projects within Afghanistan. The meeting, held at the Chinese embassy in Beijing, underscores the growing cooperation between the two nations in the energy sector.
The discussion focused on a major oil extraction project spearheaded by CAPEIC, a leading player in the Central Asian energy market. Wen Bin Li emphasized the importance of accelerating the extraction process and outlined a substantial investment plan aimed at boosting the project’s efficiency. According to the embassy’s statement, CAPEIC is set to deploy machinery and equipment valued at approximately $100 million to Afghanistan shortly. This significant investment is expected to enhance the extraction capabilities and infrastructure necessary for the successful implementation of the project.
The influx of advanced machinery and equipment is anticipated to not only expedite the extraction process but also create job opportunities and contribute to the local economy.
