President Yoon and IEA’s Birol advance global clean energy collaboration

In a significant development for international energy policy, South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol met with International Energy Agency (IEA) Executive Director Fatih Birol to discuss enhanced global clean energy cooperation. The meeting, held on September 1, 2024, at the Blue House, highlighted the urgent need for concerted efforts to address climate change and accelerate the transition to sustainable energy sources.

During the discussions, President Yoon emphasized South Korea’s commitment to advancing its green energy agenda, focusing on innovation and technological development.
