In a notable advancement for education in northern Afghanistan, the Directorate of Education in Sar-e-Pul has unveiled a newly constructed girls’ school building in the Sancharak district. Valued at over 15,700,000 Afghanis (AFS), this development marks a significant investment in the region’s educational infrastructure.
The new school represents a crucial step forward in addressing the educational needs of girls in Sancharak, where access to quality education has historically been limited.
The opening ceremony, attended by local officials and community leaders, highlights the ongoing efforts to improve educational facilities and access in Afghanistan’s remote areas. According to Hedayat-Ur-Rahman Sadaqat, the Deputy Director of Education for Sar-e-Pul, the new school is designed to enhance the educational environment for female students. The facility includes eight classrooms and four administrative rooms, aimed at accommodating both students and educational staff in a more structured and supportive setting.
The investment reflects a broader commitment to expanding educational opportunities for women and girls, which is essential for fostering long-term social and economic development in the region. Local leaders of the district have expressed their enthusiasm for the project, emphasizing its potential to provide a more conducive learning environment and to encourage higher enrollment rates among girls. The addition of administrative rooms also aims to improve the management and operational efficiency of the school.
As the new academic year approaches, the Directorate of Education is hopeful that the improved facilities will positively impact the educational outcomes for girls in Sancharak.
