The discussions focused on several key energy projects that are crucial for enhancing Afghanistan’s electricity infrastructure.

Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat (DABS) announced that a three-day meeting took place between its representatives and a technical delegation from Uzbekistan. The discussions focused on several key energy projects that are crucial for enhancing Afghanistan’s electricity infrastructure.

Among the major topics addressed were the 500 kV transmission line from Surkhan to Pul-e-Khumri, a significant project aimed at boosting the capacity and reliability of power transmission between Uzbekistan and Afghanistan.

The meeting also covered the development of the Arghandi substation. This project is integral to the region’s power distribution network, with improvements intended to enhance the efficiency of electricity distribution in southern Afghanistan.

Another important project discussed was the construction of the 220 kV transmission line from But Khak to Sheikh Misri in Nangarhar. This line is designed to facilitate the transfer of electricity to eastern Afghanistan, where there is a growing demand for reliable power supply.

Additionally, the parties discussed plans for the construction of the Sheikh Misri substation. This facility will play a crucial role in managing and distributing power efficiently within Nangarhar province, supporting both residential and industrial electricity needs.

The meeting underscores the ongoing collaboration between Afghanistan and Uzbekistan in the energy sector, aiming to address power shortages and enhance infrastructure. Both sides expressed commitment to advancing these projects, which are expected to contribute significantly to Afghanistan’s energy security and economic development.

As these projects move forward, they are anticipated to improve the quality of electricity service across various regions, supporting both residential and economic growth. The successful implementation of these initiatives will mark a significant step in strengthening regional energy cooperation.
