Bihar’s Vaibhav Suryavanshi produced one of the standout knocks of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2025, smashing a sensational 58-ball century against Maharashtra at Eden Gardens on Tuesday. Opening the innings, Suryavanshi dominated the bowling attack from the outset and raced to three figures with a mix of clean ball-striking and fearless intent.
At the end of 19.4 overs, Bihar were cruising at 173/3, with Suryavanshi unbeaten on 105 off 59 balls, an innings studded with 7 fours and 7 sixes, striking at an impressive 177.97. His late-innings acceleration included a flurry of boundaries, especially in the death overs where he repeatedly took on Arshin Kulkarni and Rajvardhan Hangargekar.
Suryavanshi also stitched a valuable partnership with Ayush Loharuka, who chipped in with a quickfire 25 off 17 balls. The duo added 72 runs off 37 balls, pushing Bihar towards a strong finish after being 101/3 earlier in the innings.
With this hundred, Vaibhav Suryavanshi has delivered one of the biggest batting statements of the tournament so far, powering Bihar to a commanding position in this crucial Elite Group B clash.
