Indian equity benchmarks ended higher on September 16, with the Nifty closing above 25,200. The Sensex gained 594.95 points, or 0.73%, to settle at 82,380.69, while the Nifty rose 169.90 points, or 0.68%, to finish at 25,239.10.

  • Nestle India declined 0.7% to 1,204.2.

  • Tata Consumer Products lost 0.6%, closing at 1,095.8.

  • HDFC Life Insurance fell 0.5% to 773.1.

  • SBI Life Insurance edged down 0.2% to 1,819.1.

  • HDFC Bank remained largely unchanged at 966.9.
