Gaza, Sep 9 – The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) on Monday ordered the complete evacuation of Gaza City, urging civilians to leave ahead of an imminent ground offensive.
“The IDF is determined to defeat Hamas and will operate in the Gaza City area with great force, just as it has throughout the Strip. For your safety, evacuate immediately via the Al-Rashid axis towards the humanitarian zone in Al-Mawasi. Remaining in the area is extremely dangerous,” IDF spokesperson Avichay Adraee said in a post on X.
The military further called on civilians to report any attempt by Hamas to obstruct evacuation efforts.
The order signals preparations for one of the most significant ground operations since the escalation of the conflict.
