Electric vehicle maker Ather Energy reported a consolidated net loss of Rs 178.2 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2025 (Q1 FY26), a marginal improvement from the loss of Rs 182.9 crore in the year-ago period.
Revenue from operations for Q1 FY26 stood at Rs 644.6 crore, up 78.8% from Rs 360.5 crore in Q1 FY25. Total income, including other income of Rs 28.3 crore, came in at Rs 672.9 crore, compared to Rs 368.4 crore in the same quarter last year.
However, total expenses surged to Rs 851.1 crore during the quarter, compared to Rs 551.3 crore in Q1 FY25. This sharp increase was driven by higher material costs (Rs 502.9 crore), employee expenses (Rs 118.6 crore), and other expenses (Rs 142.2 crore).
Sequentially, Ather’s losses narrowed from Rs 234.4 crore in Q4 FY25 to Rs 178.2 crore in Q1 FY26. Revenue was slightly down from Rs 676.1 crore in the previous quarter, while total expenses reduced from Rs 922.2 crore.
The EV company has not reported any tax expenses in this quarter and continues to remain loss-making, although revenue momentum and cost control show signs of operational improvement.
