Bangladesh made history at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka by bowling out Pakistan for the first time ever in a T20 International. In the opening match of the three-match series, the home team bundled out the visitors for just 110 runs in 19.2 overs, delivering a commanding all-round performance with the ball and in the field.

Historic collapse: Pakistan 110 all out

After being asked to bat first, Pakistan never got going as Bangladesh’s bowlers kept the pressure on throughout the innings. Apart from him, only Khushdil Shah (18) and Abbas Afridi (22)* managed to reach double digits. The rest of the batting lineup fell in quick succession, plagued by tight bowling and three run-outs.

Bowling brilliance from Bangladesh

The Bangladeshi bowling attack was sharp, disciplined, and relentless. Taskin Ahmed was the pick of the bowlers with 2 wickets for 22 runs, including the prized scalp of Saim Ayub. Mustafizur Rahman was exceptional, taking 2 for 6 in 4 overs with an economy of just 1.50. Tanzim Hasan Sakib and Rishad Hossain chipped in with a wicket each, while run-outs played a major role in dismantling the lower-middle order.

Bangladesh’s bowling figures:

  • Mahedi Hasan: 4-0-37-1

  • Taskin Ahmed: 3.2-0-22-2

  • Tanzim Hasan Sakib: 4-0-20-1

  • Mustafizur Rahman: 4-0-6-2

  • Shamim Hossain: 1-0-2-0

  • Rishad Hossain: 3-0-20-1

Fall of wickets:

1-1 (Saim Ayub, 1.5), 2-32 (Mohammad Haris, 2.6), 3-40 (Salman Agha, 4.6),
4-41 (Hasan Nawaz, 5.5), 5-46 (Mohammad Nawaz, 7.4), 6-70 (Fakhar Zaman, 11.3),
7-103 (Khushdil Shah, 16.2), 8-110 (Faheem Ashraf, 19.1), 9-110 (Salman Mirza, 19.2)

This outstanding performance marks the first time Bangladesh have bowled out Pakistan in a T20I, adding a new chapter to their cricketing milestones. With Pakistan restricted to just 110, Bangladesh will be confident of chasing the target down and taking a 1–0 lead in the series.

The second half of the game will now test Pakistan’s bowling resolve and Bangladesh’s ability to seize a rare opportunity for dominance against a major rival in T20 cricket.
