In Match 32 of IPL 2025, Chennai Super Kings won the toss and elected to bowl first against Lucknow Super Giants at the Ekana Stadium. In a surprise move, CSK skipper MS Dhoni confirmed that both Ravichandran Ashwin and Devon Conway have been left out of the playing XI.
Jamie Overton and young batter Shaik Rasheed have been brought in to replace the experienced duo. Dhoni cited dew and improving pitch conditions as the reason to chase, also stressing the need for consistency in CSK’s batting unit.
On the other hand, Rishabh Pant, leading LSG, said they would’ve also preferred to bowl first due to the surface behaviour. LSG made one change — Mitchell Marsh returned in place of Himmat Singh.
