Mercedes-Benz is set to expand its electric vehicle portfolio by introducing EV versions of its popular models, including the C-Class, E-Class, and GLC crossover. This aggressive EV push comes as the German luxury car giant aims to recover from a sales decline of over 23% in 2024. The company sold around 1.85 lakh electric cars globally last year and now plans to launch 17 new EVs by 2027.

The transformation begins in March 2025 with the unveiling of the CLA EV, which is expected to feature an 800-volt electrical architecture supporting 320 kW DC fast charging. Reports suggest the CLA EV could offer an impressive 750 km range on a single charge. The new C-Class electric sedan will also make its debut this year, signaling Mercedes’ commitment to a greener future.

Among the most anticipated launches is the E-Class EV, which will stand apart from the EQE already available in global markets. The luxury sedan promises to be larger, more comfortable, and superior in performance compared to its internal combustion engine counterpart. Mercedes-Benz’s commitment to innovation ensures these electric models will redefine the premium EV segment with cutting-edge technology and sustainability.

In India, Mercedes currently offers seven electric models, including the EQA, EQB, EQE, EQS SUVs, EQS sedan, and the newly launched electric G-Wagon. The upcoming C-Class, E-Class, and GLC EVs are also expected to hit Indian shores, further strengthening the brand’s presence in the country’s growing EV market.
