Infosys has recently launched a new hiring initiative called the ‘Power’ programme, which is designed to offer higher salaries to fresh graduates. According to The Economic Times, this programme is part of Infosys’s campus placement drive and aims to attract top-tier talent by offering salaries that can go up to Rs 9 lakh per year. This is a significant increase compared to the usual entry-level salary at Infosys, which typically falls between Rs 3 and 3.5 lakh per year.

The ‘Power’ programme specifically targets students who have strong skills in coding, programming, and software development. Those who successfully pass the specialised tests and interviews could receive salary packages ranging from Rs 4 lakh to Rs 9 lakh per year, depending on their abilities and performance.

This initiative by Infosys mirrors a similar scheme by Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), another major player in the Indian IT industry. TCS’s ‘Prime’ programme offers fresh graduates with specialised skills salaries between Rs 9 and 11 lakh per year. TCS also has different pay scales under other programmes like ‘Ninja’ (Rs 3.6 lakh per year) and ‘Digital’ (Rs 7.5 lakh per year).

Despite the recent slowdown in the tech industry, Infosys plans to hire 15,000 to 20,000 freshers in the financial year 2025. This hiring push comes as companies are increasingly looking for candidates with specialised skills in areas like cloud computing, artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), and cybersecurity, driven by the growing demand for digital transformation services.
