Jeff Pope, the executive producer of The Walk-In on ITV, has brought the most recent real crime tale to the small screen. The five-part series stars Stephen Graham as Matthew Collins, a former neo-Nazi who joined a far-right organisation and assisted in thwarting the assassination of Labour MP Rosie Cooper in 2017. Jason Flemyng, Leanne Best, Christopher Coghill, and Dean-Charles Chapman are a few more celebrities. The show examines difficult subjects including terrorism, freedom of expression, and prejudice.
“It’s a hard-hitting story that pulls no punches,” Stephen Graham reveals. “But it’s very important we have dramas like this that bring people the truth about these stories to start conversations.”

The Walk-In Cast
Stephen Graham portrays journalist Matthew Collins in the film. Furthermore, he shared his thoughts with us on playing the major character and the narrative. “I had a vague idea of the real story, but as soon as I started doing research and reading Matthew’s book I realised there was no way I wasn’t going to do the drama. He started off one way and did a total transformation in his way of thinking, which made him a fascinating character to play.” He will play Mr. Wormwood in the forthcoming movie Matilda in addition to his present role in the comedy Code 404. Stephen debuted in 1999’s Coronation Street as Lee Sankey before making further appearances in Band of Brothers, Gangs of New York, and the 2000 film Snatch.

The Walk-In Plot
The Walk-In is based on the actual tale of Matthew Collins, a former Neo-Nazi. He later worked as a legitimate journalist for the anti-racist group Hope Not to Hate. Matthew Collins is played by Stephen Graham. The five-part drama centres on Matthew Collins. His effort to prevent young white males from becoming radicalised in the first place is seen. He quickly recognises a Far Right Neo-Nazi organisation that stands out for maintaining a young, well-groomed appearance while yet being hell-bent on inciting racial conflict. His strategy is to infiltrate these organisations by operating moles or walk-ins with the intention of posting details about their operations online in order to expose and destabilise them.
He tried repeatedly to join this particular organisation, but he was unsuccessful each time. Thus, they proceeded to gain power largely unchecked until the horrifying murder of a member of parliament, Jo Cox, threw their potential into stark relief and made them the first Far Right organisation to be banned by the government since the Second World War.
Matthew Collins believed the organisation would simply have been driven underground and that he had likely lost any possibility of learning more from within even though the marches and social media posts ended. Until he received an email from someone claiming to be a member one day in March 2017. A mole prepared to discuss a terrible scheme to assassinate a second MP. The assassination attempt against Labour MP Rosie Cooper is ultimately thwarted by him.
