Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (Hindustan Aeronautics Limited) has issued a detailed clarification on the delivery status of the Light Combat Aircraft (LCA Mk1A), providing reassurance to stakeholders amid heightened focus on execution timelines and engine availability.
The company confirmed that five LCA Mk1A aircraft are fully ready for delivery, having incorporated all major contracted capabilities in line with the specifications agreed with the customer. These aircraft meet the operational and technical requirements and are awaiting formal handover.
In addition, nine more LCA Mk1A aircraft have already been built and successfully flown. These jets will be made delivery-ready immediately upon receipt of engines from GE. HAL stated that it has already received five engines from GE, and the supply outlook from the engine manufacturer remains positive. The forward delivery schedule from GE aligns with HAL’s production and delivery plans, supporting a smoother execution pipeline going ahead.
All remaining design and development issues identified during the programme are being addressed on a fast-track basis. HAL also confirmed that active discussions are underway with the Indian Air Force to ensure the earliest possible delivery of the aircraft once engine supplies stabilise.
