Gabion Technologies India Limited has received material approval for its mechanically woven, double-twisted hexagonal wire mesh for use in the Mumbai–Ahmedabad High Speed Rail (Bullet Train) Project, the company said in a regulatory filing on Tuesday, January 20, 2026.
The approval has been granted for the use of the company’s wire mesh product in Package C3 of the high-speed rail corridor, which has been awarded to Larsen & Toubro Construction. Package C3 covers a stretch of approximately 135.45 km, extending from Shilphata in Maharashtra to Zaroli at the Maharashtra–Gujarat border, and includes stations at Thane, Virar, and Boisar, along with viaducts, tunnels, bridges, and other allied infrastructure .
Testing and certification details
According to the company, the approved product has successfully met all prescribed technical and performance parameters following testing conducted at ACE Test House, a government-approved laboratory, and M E Testing Lab Pvt. Ltd.
At ACE Test House, the product underwent corrosion spread testing for 2,500 hours and salt spray testing for 3,000 hours, with results confirming compliance with applicable standards. Separately, M E Testing Lab conducted tests for brittleness temperature and UV resistance, including 2,500 hours of UV exposure, after which the product met the required tensile strength and elongation specifications .
Scope of approval
The material approval allows Gabion Technologies to participate in the supply of its approved product for earth structures and related works under the C3 package of the high-speed rail project. The company stated that the approval is in line with regulatory requirements and quality benchmarks prescribed for the project.
As of September 30, 2025, Gabion Technologies had executed over 33 projects during the current financial year, with an aggregate project value of ₹12,843.06 lakh, largely from government and public sector entities, as per the company’s disclosure .

The Mumbai–Ahmedabad High Speed Rail Project is India’s first high-speed rail corridor, connecting Mumbai and Ahmedabad through Maharashtra, Gujarat, and the Union Territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli. The project has been divided into eight construction packages, C1 to C8.
